Resident Vessel Program

San Luis Obispo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District in partnership with the Nacimiento Regional Water Management Advisory Committee (NRWMAC) have created a program for residents of Lake Nacimiento who permanently store their boating vessels at their lakeside residence. The Resident Vessel Program (RVP) for Lake Nacimiento is a new part of the Mussel Prevention Program. The intent of the program is to eliminate redundant screenings of vessels permanently stored on Lake Nacimiento, allowing residents to avoid long lines and unnecessary screenings.
Running Deer Ranch has already established “Community Eligibility” for its members.  If you are a member of  RDR and your vehicle is qualified (doesn’t leave our lake) you are encouraged to complete the RVP Application.  Then submit it to the county, along with a current copy of your DMV vessel registration and a recent copy of you secured property tax bill to prove ownership of lake side property.  If your vessel registration lists a mailing address not at Lake Nacimiento, you will need to first update your DMV record to reflect the storage address.
Once the application is complete, you can fax your RVP application packet to (805) 781-1088 or mail it to:
County of San Luis Obispo,
Attn: Misty Pontes, Mussel Prevention Program County Government Center
Room 207 San Luis Obispo, CA 93408
Upon receipt and review of your application, you will be invited to participate in a “Mussel Awareness Class”. This one-hour informational session is required to receive your Resident Vessel Certificate.  Don’t forget to bring a valid, current photo ID and a current Vessel Screening Permit to the class!
Please review RVP Brochure for all of the details!
